‘Lurgi Strikes Britain’ is one of the famous episodes featured in the comedy dinner and show, The Goon Show LIVE! It’s the story in which a mysterious disease swamps Britain. The first, and most ugly symptom of this horrible disease is an uncontrollable urge to yell, “Eeeeeyuckabee!” This show introduced the world to the word ‘lurgi’ (or ‘lurgy’), in common language today to describe a cold or ‘flu.

By popular demand, The Goon Show LIVE! is returning to the Blue Mountains for two pre-Christmas dinner and show events. After successful tours to Sydney and The Hunter Valley earlier this year, this comedy classic has been wowing audiences with sell-out shows since exploding onto the live scene in June 2013.

Featuring some the best British comedy ever written (John Cleese says if it wasn’t for The Goon Show, Monty Python would never have existed) The Goon Show LIVE! is the perfect comedy entertainment, with high energy and snappy one-liners that you will be quoting for days, weeks and months to come; ensuring a great night… one that you will remember.

There are only two shows; Saturday 29th November at Blackheath’s St. Mounts Trattoria, and at the Wentworth Falls Country Club on Saturday 6th December. Both programmes feature 3 different hilarious adventures written by master Goon, Spike Milligan; all starring the wiley characters made famous by Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe and Milligan.

These events are the perfect opportunity for your pre-Christmas get-together with your colleagues, clients or family; with both venues offering delicious menus and relaxing atmospheres.

These are the last two shows of 2014, and tickets are selling well. The director and co-producer, Bryan Cutts of Entertainment Blue Mountains says “The response has been amazing really, the Blackheath show is already half sold out… it’s going to be a cracker.”
