L-R John Stretton as Peter Sellers and Simon Lenthen in the role of Harry Secombe in last year’s Yulefest The Goon Show LIVE!

Last Saturday 21st March was our last show at Warrawee in Sydney (for this year). It was nothing short of tremendous fun!

We had some fanatic audience interaction and some great ad-libs from the guys as well as their performances of the night’s 3 classic Goon Shows! ‘Lurgi Strikes Britain’ – ‘The Phantom Head Shaver of Brighton’ – and tonight’s mystery show (drawn from our Bucket of Goon by our youngest audience member, just 11 years old!)…the CLASSIC ‘The Great International Christmas Pudding’.

Apparently we have a growing number of new generation fans! And the guys were thrilled to meet a young man tonight (11yo) who is a very keen fan indeed! He knows all the lines, all the gags and even traded some banter with the cast (doing some good character impressions) during the traditional meet and greet with the cast – after the show. This young fan has been to TWO seperate shows now, and when we asked him what he thought of tonight’s performance he said (VERY enthusiastically) “Off the scale!”

“Underneath the Mistletoe..” L-R Robin Queree plays Spike Milligan and John Stretton as Peter Sellers in our 2014 season of The Goon Show LIVE!

Great to see parents (also fans) educating their children well – in the wonderful Goon humour!

Now the cast and crew take a short break – before rehearsals start again, for this year’s Yulefest shows in Katoomba (our 3rd year!) – through June, July and August. We are presenting 3 more classic episodes for this Yulefest 2015 season and they are episodes die-hard fans AND new fans will love!

So book your accommodation, get your tickets and start practising Walking Backwards for Christmas.

See you soon for some great food and the best of British comedy. Ying Tong Iddle I Po!
